How to redirect users based on referrer URL using JavaScript

In this tutorial, you will learn how you can redirect users on your website based on referrer URL using JavaScript. According to W3Schools, "document.referrer" returns a string, representing the URL of the document that loaded the current document. Returns the entire URL, including the protocol (like http://). If the current document was not opened through a link (for example, through a bookmark), an empty string is returned.

This solution can check if the user (site traffic) is coming from a specific webpage or a website URL and based on that it will redirect the users accordingly.

How to make old unresponsive tables responsive using bootstrap

Recently, I was a part of this migration project in which a complete website was redesigned from scratch using bootstrap framework and data from the old site was migrated to the new site. In this project, I was involved in testing the brand new site and making sure that the migrated data is correct. During the testing phase, I found one major problem with the content – i.e. unresponsible tables. Everything on the new site was responsive except the tables. I came up with an idea of making unresponsive tables responsive and it fixed the problem globally on the new site. Today, I will be sharing that “quick fix” with you guys….

Learn about offering in-store pickup option (pickup points) to the online customers on nopCommerce site

Thanks to the increasing popularity of e-Commerce stores, more and more retailers (who are even running physical stores) are making their presence online. But, only a few online stores are actually taking advantage of latest and greatest features on the web to market themselves as a brand. One advantage that retailers with actual physical stores have over standard online businesses is that they can provide different kind of shipping options to their customers. One of the most commonly used methods is in-store pickup option.

In your solution, open RouteProvider.cs - You will find this file in this location: Nop.Web/Infrastructure/RouteProvider.cs

You will see different mapped routes like home page, login, register etc.

Hi Rajnish,

What error are you getting?

May I ask what is the purpose of adding "?" and "&" in the URL?

2 months ago

Hi Aman,

If are running multiple stores (in nopCommerce based off multi store feature) that means you are working with different domain names (or sub-domains).

You just have to perform 2 separate imports:
- Import products for store 1 when you are logged into store 1 domain (or sub-domain)
- Import products for store 2 when you are logged into store 2 domain (or sub-domain)

Hi Johny,

As of now, the product registration plugin only support ONE location and that CANNOT be changed from the configuration options of the product registration plugin. But, there is a trick / workaround if you would like to move the “Product Registration” menu item to somewhere else.

Since you’ve mentioned that you would like to move it to the bottom (instead of top).

1)      Go to this location in your nopCommerce files: Nop.Web (or Presentation) / Views / Customer / CustomerNavigation.cshtml

2)      Option the view “CustomerNavigation.cshtml”

3)      You will find this code:

            @foreach (var item in Model.CustomerNavigationItems)
                <li class="@item.ItemClass">
                    <a href="@Url.RouteUrl(item.RouteName)" class="@(Model.SelectedTab == item.Tab ? "active" : "inactive")">@(item.Title)</a>

4)      Move the @Html.Widget("account_navigation_before") to the bottom like this:

@foreach (var item in Model.CustomerNavigationItems)
                <li class="@item.ItemClass">
                    <a href="@Url.RouteUrl(item.RouteName)" class="@(Model.SelectedTab == item.Tab ? "active" : "inactive")">@(item.Title)</a>

5)  Save changes and refresh the “My account” section, you should be able to see the “Product Registration” menu item at the bottom (if you do not see the change, please clear cache, reload plugins and restart your application from the administration section

Note: The product registration menu item is using this zone for displaying the link
- So, anytime if you would like to move the menu item to anywhere, simply move the widget zone.

You can always refer to the “Documentation” section on our website to learn more about Product Registration Plugin:

One more thing you can try (IF you have already confirmed that your hosting server does offer FULL trust level) - Open your import file and re-save it as .xlsx (please make sure it is NOT .xls).

Try importing now and see it is fixes your problem?

nopCommerce 3.20 and above need full trust hosting. Have you confirmed this from your hosting company that they are offering full trust level on the server where you have configured your site?

Hi Mark, please see my last post above.

Also - If you are using import file exported by other site, please make sure both sites are running on same version. If not, then do not use the exported file from other site. Export the file from the site where you want to import the products.

UPDATE: If you continue to get the same error.

In this case export one product (that you have manually added to your site) by using export button and then simply import that file AS-IS.

Worst case scenario - If you STILL get the exact same error about "STG_E_WRITEFAULT", in that case your file is not the issue. The issue has something to do with your permissions.  In that case, make sure your root folder has write permission (or  at least this folder should have write permission: \Content\files\ExportImport)

Hi Mark,

In your case, I would recommend the following points:

1) If you are creating a brand new import file from scratch. Instead of creating a new file, try using the "Export" option and export the existing products (it will give you everything in an excel file). If you do not have any product(s) on your store site, simply create a test product manually

2) Once you have the exported file (use this as your base file / template for import) and ensure that you have all the fields values in required fields / columns

3) Save your products in the same Excel version / file (I would recommend importing just one product for now to make sure it is working instead of adding hundreds or thousands of products. It will be easier to troubleshoot the product with one product only)

Hi Aman,

If I understood your question correctly, you have your sites setup like this?

---Store 1 (ftempurl)
---Store 2 (ftempurl)

---Store 1 (btempurl)
---Store 2 (btempurl)

So, as long as you have Store 1 & Store 2 configured correctly on each of your primary test domains, you should be able to assign theme to each sub-store.

You can set a theme for each store on this page here:Configuration > Settings > General Settings
